There is assistance for newcomers to Canada

Alberta SouthWest is less well-known to those considering immigration to Canada. There are fewer supports for newcomers to Canada in rural regions, but there are opportunities ranging from the retail and service sector, to business succession, to farm purchase. For examples, there are cases of immigrants from the Netherlands purchasing farm properties in the Region, and there are clusters of Filipinos working in the service sector. The Region does not have an immigration office but services are available nearby in both Calgary and Lethbridge.

These agencies support immigrants in their new communities and provide a number of services to help them make the transition to life in Alberta.
